The Challenge

The original pressure-treated deck was under-framed, splintering, and rated for neither the hot Missouri summers nor the family's plans for an outdoor dining space. There was no shade, so the west-facing deck was unusable on summer afternoons.

Our Solution

We demoed to grade and rebuilt on properly-sized footings with a code-compliant ledger and joist plan, then installed composite decking with hidden fasteners and a black aluminum railing. A gable roof cover with tongue-and-groove ceiling, fan, and recessed lights turned the deck into a true outdoor room.

The Result

A shaded, low-maintenance outdoor living space with composite decking warrantied for decades, usable through Missouri's hottest months and strong enough for the hot tub planned next year.
